Wz in small shop with sis few days ago n we both got top eardone. Told the woman I had done all my own peircings n wz just there for the convenience. She
started the illegality lecture with me so we left. Ang decided to pop into ' Get Some Ink' in Methil on way home once I'd left her n got her lip
done. She foned me three days later sayin her face wz swollen. The tiny 7mm bar had embedded itself into her face. After a lot of squealing I removed the bar,
cleaned her face and replaced it with a decent sized bar. Its healing nice now. If thats the legal procedure the first woman spoke of they can %!%@ off n stay
away from my face! I'll do it myself. Not to say this is the norm granted but its very disheartening. She didnt even goback to complain. Think I'll
visit them myself!! Not for a peircing though!

welcome to the boards.
please dont take offence to any of the replies you will get here as its not illegal its just sheer stupidity and no one is gunan be sympathetic about the lecture you got. professionals are trained to be clean, sanitary, hygenic, trained to pierce the right places et cetc etc, we only advocate safe and professional piercing on this board and wont condone elsewise. are you a qualified piercer? do you know if you have put a decent piece of jewlery in your friends lip? (atleast i think thats whats happened, im not 100% what the post is meant to be about becuase of the terms and quick language you have used) your freind needs to go back to her piercer and get them to look at it, you shouldnt have removed the jewlery, and definatly not put something else in you thought was right. what aftercare is she using?

No. Im not a qualified peircer but then neither were the aborigines! Thing is she wouldnt go back! I know from my own experience the bar I put in was the
right size but apart from that,no, I dont condone anyone removing or attempting to replace bars themselves without going back to the shop first. Im sure most
places would go out of their way to rectify any dissatisfaction shall we say. It is healing very nicely I admit but your right. Dont attempt it yourself.

no they wernt, but then again in the era and time of the aborigines pro piercers didnt exist, whereas they do now
most reputable studios should and do rectify or help with issues with anything you get from them, iwould really try to persuade her to go back there regardless of what has been done since.

Yeah well i admit wz being broadminded but yes, she did go back and they explained that it must have been her aftercare too. She told me she had been doing all
the necessary but is she telling porkies? They said to leave the bigger bar in anyway as it's healing. N so will if i say anything else about her here.
Anyway she went in with her daughter and her daughter, (a policewoman) lol , ended up getttin some tatt work done and is well happy (maybe becz she got a huge
discount mind u) with it so theyr all friends now and think they now hv a regular as my neice seems to have caught the scratch bug! Aw well. Alls well that
endswell. But since i'm a miserly Scottish skinflint it's back to the diy stabbins for me. N dont worry, none of them would let me near then with
anything remotely shiny n sharp! lol

She's been using savlon wound spray and mouthwash. She was told not to smoke for few hours though and I doubt if she managed that!! Dont think a lot of
people realise how much smoking could be hindering the healing process as well. She's fine now. No doubt she'll be away gettin stabbed next week again.
Think i'll hide for the first 4,5 days! lol
