Awesome piercer, Oxford, UK |
Lead | |
|
If anyone is ever around Oxford, it's well worth the half hour bud trip into witney to Hook and Eye piercing. Flick (piercer) is amazing. I got my septum
pierced there on thursday. I actually went into town to book an appointment for my tattoo, but as usual ended up at Hook and Eye. I always hang out there just
talking to Flick, as she's always happy to answer any questions and have a chat. I went there first to ask where the tattoo place is, as it CAN NOT be
found. It's like finding Narnia. Anyway, at the tattoo place, they told me what i want would be £50 but they need a deposit, so i went to get that out of
the machine. I paid a £20 deposit, and walked back up to Flick's. I wasn't thinking about getting pierced at this point. I headed up to Flick's,
and we just hung around talking and joking around. I started looking at the pricelist, just to see what was what. After a while, i started thinking 'well
that sounds pretty awesome', and eventually i decided to go for it, since i still had £30 left from the tattoo. I had to hang around for a while cause she
had to get everything out of the autoclave. I hung around and looked at her portfolio in the meantime. When she was ready, i hopped up on the chair while she
unpacked everything. She explained everything she was doing, and pretty much forced me to watch her to prove everything was brand new and sterile. She
didn't mark it, which i was fine with, as i trust her with my life. She discussed where would be best to place it, as i had to hide it from college (animal
care - animals and piercing do not mix.) for a week. She swabbed my nose, which was the worst part, those things BURN! Next, she put the clamps on and asked me
if the placement felt good. I said yes, so she opened the needle and stuck it through. No count to three, no breathe in and out. Which is a good thing, i hate
all that. Just stab me already! I wouldn't have known it was done if I'd not been looking in the mirror. There was no pain, no blood and it was totally
easy. I had it pierced with a 1.6 (14 gauge for you yanks!) horseshoe. I kept it flipped up the first few days, just to see how long it would take my parents
to notice. I got bored of that after 2 days, so I flipped it down. My mom's first reaction was laughter (thinking it was fake), then disgust on finding out
it's real. All in all, it was a very positive experience as always. I highly recommend this place. There seems to be a shortage of good piercers in Oxford.
The only alternative i know of is the dreaded Tiger Lilly. (you from the UK will know!)
